Get Plugged into WFCS by Joining a Committee
Your involvement in our WFCS community is one of the most important influences in maintaining an excellent and affordable patron-run school. We look forward to coming alongside you as you share your time, talent, and resources to plug in, serve, connect with other Patrons who are committed to Christian Education, and ultimately shine your love and commitment to Christ. Thank you for the many ways you serve our school!
Admissions
Meet with new patrons to give an overview of WFCS and to get to know them. Formally called an “interview,” but it is more of a conversation! Answer questions they may have about WFCS and share your own WFCS experience.
Auction
The Auction Committee meets from April to November and coordinates WFCS’s annual auction fundraiser held in October. For more than 40 years, this fundraiser has directly supported our school’s operations budget. The live auction features a professional auctioneer who auctions off items donated by local businesses, patrons, teachers, and staff. Even our students create classroom projects to auction. The whole family can join in our Fun Run/Auction preview the evening before the auction.
The Auction Committee’s main work is soliciting donations. We canvas local businesses and organize every part of event from planning to cleanup. We draw support from every patron family, teacher, and staff member to offer excellent auction items and create a wonderful day of relationship, food, and FUNdraising.
Bag Bingo
Help to solicit for business sponsors, assist with marketing the event, set up and tear down the event, or assist with food. This fundraiser is quickly becoming one of our most popular fundraisers and it takes place in the Winter.
Building/Maintenance
Maintenance of the building, set up and tear down events as needed. Experience in electric, plumbing, heating/cooling, carpentry, etc preferred.
Chapel
The Chapel Committee is responsible for arranging speakers for our weekly chapels, which take place every Wednesday morning at 9:10 a.m. in the gym. We have welcomed pastors, missionaries, local ministry leaders, WFCS alumni, children’s and youth ministry leaders, and other guests to share God’s love with our school community. Our speakers often share their messages in conjunction with our monthly Christian Character Virtues. Additionally, we hold class chapels where each elementary grade, from Kindergarten through 5th, prepares and presents a skit to the entire school. Every chapel commences with a time of worship presented by our Middle School Worship Team! We invite anyone interested in attending a chapel to come join us on Wednesday mornings!
Golf
Connect with businesses to help obtain sponsorships and teams and help with set up of the event. The golf outing is one of our major fundraisers and is typically held on a Friday in May.
Grounds
Upkeep of the flower bed areas: planting, year-round weeding, pruning, etc.
Hot Lunch
Help to prep and serve hot lunches for students and staff — 2 Fridays/month and on Grandparents’ Day. Typically 9am – 2pm on the designated dates.
Prayer
Join with other prayer warriors from WFCS to pray for the school, staff, and specific requests from families.
PTF (Parent/Teacher Fellowship)
The Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) is a group of patrons who strive to appreciate, encourage, bless, and maybe just a little bit spoil, the teachers and staff at West Fallowfield Christian School. We host special events to celebrate them, such as a luncheons during fall conference times and Teacher Appreciation Week. We plan and organize unique ways to encourage them during Teacher Appreciation Week and during the month of December when we help bring the Christmas spirit with 12 days of Christmas gifts under the staff Christmas tree, the 12th gift typically being a “big” gift. Most recently, we completed a renovation of the teacher/staff room. Throughout the year, we work with the principal and staff to support them in any other ways we can. We continually pray for all of our teachers, staff, students, and our school as a whole.
Recess Aides
Help supervise students outside on the playground or inside the gym (weather dependent).
Trash Stash
Help keep track of student letters sent and money collected, assist with prize patrol, help coordinate clean-up locations. Trash Stash is a school-wide community clean-up day, usually held the second Saturday in April. Leading up to the event, students send letters to those who may want to sponsor them for their clean-up efforts, which also makes it a fundraiser.
