EITC PA Tax Credit Program
What is EITC?
The Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit program allows both businesses and individuals to make donations to WFCS and receive a significant tax credit in return. The program stipulates that at least 80% of the funds are to be used for scholarships, and WFCS relies heavily on EITC funds each year to provide financial aid to our families. It’s a great way to amplify your donation to the school and enable other families to attend who otherwise might not be able to afford it.
For individuals/couples, there is a minimum $3,500 donation and you can receive a credit of 90% of your donation. Business have slightly different percentages depending on the commitment they make to the program – 75% for 1 year or 90% for 2 years.
Example
If you as an individual donated $5,000, you would receive a PA state tax credit of $4,500. You make a net donation of $500 and the school receives $5,000. That’s the majority of the tuition cost for a student to attend. If you wanted to continue the next year, you can take your tax credit, add another $500 to get back to $5,000 and do it all over again!
